{Beauty Buzz} Miami: Emena Spa Giveaway!

Ever needed a vacation from your vacation? Not that I didn't love every second of my California vacay, but after 10 days on the west coast I have to say it's been a rough week for me. I'm jet lagged. My spray tan has  dulled. My hair has been sitting in a top-knot all week. (Can I be more lazy?!) Needless to say, I am counting the minutes until my appointment at Emena Spa this afternoon. Orange You Glad?

A couple of months ago I had the pleasure of meeting Neiman Marcus' Fashion Director, Ken Downing, while he was in Miami to style a spring fashion show. (Impeccable style and unbelievably kind!) Of all the trends he presented throughout the show, one in particular stuck out to me. Orange, in every shade, "think safety cone," he declared. This sheer blouse c/o The Orchid Boutique is a must-have, with the added bonus that it doubles as a swimsuit cover-up. The necklace, also from the South Beach swimwear mecca, had to be mine when I saw it. Statement necklaces are my thing. I love how they can transform a simple t-shirt or blouse from casual to ultra chic. Love the look? In the 4th grade I attended my first ever slumber party. We dressed up and danced to the Spice Girls. I, of course, was Posh. Fast forward 16 years and I'm on TV telling everyone this season's hottest trend is "sporty spice." (Local 10 Video) While I think we can credit the Olympics for the recent popularity of athletic-inspired garb, I'll give it to Mel C. Thinking sweatpants? Not cute, unless they look like this.

Last year I attended my first Derby at Gulfstream Park and couldn't believe how fun, and fashion-forward, the experience was!  I mean, what other sporting event practically requires you to look Stepford Wives fabulous? If you've never been to a race at Gulfstream, you need to gather your friends, some betting cash, and your most fabulous hat and make an afternoon of it. Better yet - let them treat you! Early riser? Start your day with a dose of spring fashion tomorrow morning on Miami's Local 10. I'm dishing on the season's hottest trends at Bloomies Aventura with my girl MJ Acosta in her new segment MJ in the Morning. Lost on Lincoln

A while back I had photographer Emma del Rey join me on Lincoln Road to capture these images... somehow I lost track of them in the ensuing months. I was reminded of them last week when I visited the stretch of shops and restaurants twice; once for shopping (duh), and again on Friday night when I took Eric to a preview of Michael Bay's new action flick Pain & Gain. We're hardly into spring and Miami is already starting to reach it's boiling point, making leisurely strolls like this, well, sweaty. The solution? Breezy & backless, baby.

3 Ways to Wear Black & White

BLACK + WHITE

It's THE trend of the season, and unless you've been hiding under a rock, you probably knew that already. Back in December, I told  Aventura Magazine, "You only need two colors in your closet next season—black and white" Just call me Walter Mercado. (If you're not Latin, you'll have to Google that. I typically don't go crazy on trends, but this monochromatic phenomenon is far more. Black & white is tres chic, classic, and oh so easy to wear! Feel free to spice it up with a punch of color on your lips and nails, or with a bold handbag. I'm seriously crushing on Hoss Intropia these days (last seen here on NYE, and more to come.) The Spanish line's spring collection is chock full of feminine, flirty pieces that make you feel casually glamorous. This polka dot dress is flattering on any woman, and just plain fun. It's a Prom Party at Macy's!
