My Real Life Breakfast at Tiffany's

kelly saks miami fashion blogger tiffany & co. bal harbour

It’s been fifty-four years since Audrey Hepburn, outfitted in a chic black gown, opera gloves, and oversized sunglasses, stood in front of a Manhattan jewelry store’s window to enjoy her morning coffee and croissant.  Any woman alive could tell you that store was none other than Tiffany & Co.
Audrey has been one of my favorite actresses and personal style icons for as long as I can remember.

Kelly's Picks: A Guide for Lovers

I spent my Valentine's Day celebrating the marriage of one of my dearest friends at Coral Gables' famed Biltmore Hotel. We were surrounded by so much love, there was no other place I would have rather been. Coincidentally, this is the second year in a row that Eric and I spend V-Day at a wedding. (He's had it so easy!) Check my instagram for photos from the special day.

The New Black #OOTD

Alexis Fringe Dress (similar) | Danielle Nicole Alexa Tote | Custom #ootd Social Media Plate c/o TAudrey

While the rest of the country is obsessing over Black Friday, I'm just living for this rad black dress by ALEXIS that I scored at their epic annual sample sale last week for just 30 bucks! With fringed sleeves reminiscent of a fab Cher ensemble this is definitely not your typical LBD, which is why I kept my accessories simple. My friend and Miami jewelry designer Tiffany Ortiz of TAudrey has upped the ante on her popular nameplate necklace with the new social media plate ($75). Naturally I chose the signature hashtag #ootd to wear alongside my custom Kelly nameplate. If you're social media obsessed like me, or just looking for a great holiday gift, this is a must-have! Each necklace is made to order with your choice of handle or hashtag. Because I love ya, and it is cyber weekend, use the code kellyskloset to save 15% off your order.

P.S. Would love if you could vote for me in the A&F Style/Off over on FashionIndie.com. One lucky voter will win a trip to New York City for an exclusive shopping spree at the Abercrombie flagship!

{Fashion Friday 5} Totally TAudrey

When jewelry designer Tiffany Ortiz asked if I would model for her new jewelry campaign I was totally flattered, and of course said yes! Besides being transformed into one of her glamorous TAudrey girls, I loved getting to work alongside fellow blogger The Fashion Poet, and college friend (and former beauty queen!) Jaife.  Let's just say there was no shortage of laughs on set. Tiffany was one of the very first designers I featured here on the blog back in 2010. My oh my, how we've both grown in three years. Cheers to great friends, good laughs, and lots and lots of jewelry! Check out the new TAudrey.com where you can shop for my 5 must-have pieces featured below.

Orange You Glad?

A couple of months ago I had the pleasure of meeting Neiman Marcus' Fashion DirectorKen Downing, while he was in Miami to style a spring fashion show. (Impeccable style and unbelievably kind!) Of all the trends he presented throughout the show, one in particular stuck out to me. Orange, in every shade, "think safety cone," he declared. This sheer blouse c/o The Orchid Boutique is a must-have, with the added bonus that it doubles as a swimsuit cover-up. The necklace, also from the South Beach swimwear mecca, had to be mine when I saw it. Statement necklaces are my thing. I love how they can transform a simple t-shirt or blouse from casual to ultra chic. Love the look? You'll be able to shop for other great summer staples from The Orchid Boutique tomorrow at Style Sessions! (Hint hint, there may be a special something from them in the gift bags.) Starry Eyed

Aqua Floral Blazer | ZARA Star Top (old) | Bakers Heels | Ann Taylor Necklace | Sunglasses c/o IVI

Aqua Floral Blazer | ZARA Star Top (old) |  Ann Taylor Necklace

Just like some popular kids in high school, not all trends are what they're cracked up to be. But when it comes to mixing prints, it just took me a while to 'get it.' Although summer is long gone, this floral Aqua blazer (On sale $62, available at Bloomingdale's at The Falls) is perfect to usher in Miami's mild fall temps. It peeked out at me from the sale rack at Bloomies and I immediately started brainstorming how many different ways I could style it. See, I play a little game when I'm on the fence about a purchase- If I can wear it with at least two things I already own, it's justified. (Great strategy to avoid impulse buys.) At the top of that list was not a star printor any printbut when I found these two hanging side-by-side in my closet, the fashion gods spoke to me.

Mixing prints isn't just for fashion editorials or bloggers, you just have to work with the right proportions and stay in the same color family. This unexpected combo works because the floral print is large, while the star print is on a smaller scale with fewer colors. The cherry on top is my gorgeous supernova necklace from Ann Taylor. (Big shout out to my boyfriend for this one, it's almost impossible to find!) Now it's your turn: Show me how you mix it up! Email me your best 'mixed prints' look to editor@kellysklosetblog.com & I'll post my favorites on Facebook.

Briana Celebrates Launch with Miami Trunk Show

Miami native Briana "Bri" Guerra is celebrating tonight, as her eponymous jewelry line is now available to the world at ShopBriana.com.

A graduate of the Miami International University of Art & Design and Polimoda Instituto in Florence, Guerra's designs are deeply influenced by her travels. The chic collection of bracelets, earrings, and rings is handmade in Istanbul using semi-precious stones and exotic skins.

Briana offers world class style to the woman looking for "elegance, subtlety and exclusivity." Nothing says luxe like a candy colored stingray cuff or delicate chandelier earrings. Last year on my birthday one of my favorite gifts was a Briana turquoise stingray cuff from my boyfriend; I can't help but feel special whenever I wear it. (Non-stop compliments never hurt.)

Meet Bri today from 4-8pm in Coconut Grove for a toast to her site launch, and shop other Miami favorites like bracelets by JS Beads and nameplate necklaces by Francesca.

Becoming Blair Waldorf

My Monday nights are sacred for two reasons: yoga and Gossip Girl. Now that the CW drama is on hiatus for the summer, the start to each week has been far too zen. A fan of the high-fashion, high-drama show since season one, I thank Serena van der Woodsen and Blair Waldorf for filling the void left by the Carrie Bradshaws and Marisa Coopers of TV land. When I learned that Gossip Girl's Emmy Award winning costume designer Eric Daman was headed to Miami I nearly jumped for joy in my 6-inch heels! The style guru hosted a GG themed fête at Swarovski to celebrate the launch of his new web series The Daman Chronicles. (Above photo courtesy Getty Images/John Parra for Swarovski.)

Bevy Smith, Eric Daman, and Ria Michelle

Co-hosted by the beautiful Ria Michelle, the Swarovski Style event invited guests to dress up as their favorite Gossip Girl for their chance to win a prize pack that included major Swarovski bling & Seasons 1-4 of the drama on DVD. Many, many Blairs & Serenas (and one Vanessa) came to play but Eric chose only one faux-Upper East Sider as his winner: me!  Fitting since I often think Blair Waldorf is my alter ego. In all seriousness, what a major compliment.

I'm Wearing: ZARA Suit - Lola Top - Aldo Pumps - ShopSueyBoutique Bag

Coincidentally, my very own "Chuck Bass" was also there and Eric couldn't let him go home empty handed. The only male to attempt Gossip Girl style claims he dresses like this on the daily. He even sported pink socks.

Winners! Santiago Jaramillo as Chuck, Eric Daman, Ria Michelle, and Kelly Saks as Blair

You can judge Miami's take on Gossip Girl fashion for yourself by watching the event on Livestream. Love the Swarovski jewels? Win a Swarovski Rainbow Pendant ($150 value!) on June 26th by tweeting about your favorite part of The Daman Chronicles using #SwarovskiStyle. Now enjoy photos of some of my favorite fashion moments of the evening...
