Renowned Colombian designer Silvia Tcherassi recently celebrated the opening of the Silvia Tcherassi Atelier at Merrick Park.
I had the pleasure of attending the private cocktail party alongside over 100 of Miami's fashion elite, including my friends and colleagues Danie Gomez-Ortigoza of Glamour Mexico, Irma Martinez, Adriana Castro, and Andy Faerman. For the occasion, I paired a Silvia Tcherassi silk neoprene clutch with an off-the-shoulder ruffled top (similar), distressed jeans, and drop earrings.
Tcherassi's latest collection, Las Mujeres de Macondo, was presented by four models throughout the evening while guests chatted between sips of Champagne. The right-off-the-runway collection features brightly printed fabrics paired with Silvia's signature fluid and structured shapes, and was inspired by the fictional Colombian town in Gabriel Garcia-Marquez' novel One Hundred Years of Solitude. With the fashion industry's current love affair with all things Colombian, I doubt it will be too long before you spot the it girls sporting the Macondo collection. (Atlantic//Pacific Blogger Blair Eadie Bee recently donned a Tcherassi dress in Cartagena.)
In addition to hand-selecting the Atelier's assortment of glamorous accessories, Tcherassi personally designed the store’s spacious interiors in a minimal but luxurious style. Not surprising, since she started her career as an interior designer, and continues to design beyond fashion with projects such as the TCHERASSI HOTEL + SPA in Cartagena and Silvia Tcherassi Home Collection.
While this is the brand’s tenth store, it is the only place you can find Silvia's runway gowns and stunning bridal collection, which features one-of-a-kind, hand-finished pieces. (To die for! I'm campaigning for a second wedding.) The other Silvia Tcherassi ready-to-wear locations include Merrick Park, multiple locations in Colombia and Madrid.
Silvia Tcherassi Atelier is located at 207 San Lorenzo Avenue in Coral Gables, Florida.
